How It Works
How do I get started with Insight Therapy Solutions?
Getting started is easy! Simply click HERE to schedule your 15-minute matchmaking session. During this session, our expert will learn about your needs, goals, and preferences to pair you with the right therapist.
What is a therapist matchmaking session?
Our therapist matchmaking session is a personalized 15-minute consultation designed to connect clients with a therapist who aligns with their needs, personality, and preferences. It goes beyond matching based on specialties to ensure a strong connection and compatibility.
How does online therapy compare to traditional therapy?
Online therapy offers the same quality of care as traditional therapy but with added benefits like flexibility, reduced travel time, and the ability to receive support from the comfort of your home.
What approaches and technique do the coaches use to support me without diagnosing?
Our coaches at Insight Therapy Solutions bring expertise in the field of Social Work and utilize a combination of media, education, and peer counseling to support clients facing various challenges. It’s important to note that our coaching approach does not involve diagnosing clients. Instead, we focus on providing coping skills, emotional support, and education tailored to the client’s specific situation. Our aim is to empower individuals to navigate their current experiences and address present issues effectively, without delving deeply into their personal history.
Services Offered
How do I get started?
The first step is up to you. Give our office a call at 888-409-8976, so we can get the basic facts, including your name and insurance information. During that initial call, we will set you up for an initial assessment at a time that is convenient for you. We typically have appointments available within 48 hours, and sometimes we can even get you in that same day!
What happens at the initial assessment?
At your scheduled time, you will meet your therapist via our teletherapy platform. She or he will ask you questions about yourself in order to get to know you and to find out what your needs are. During that time, you will both start to get an idea of what your treatment is going to look like, and how long it is expected to last. Most importantly, you should get a feel for whether or not the therapeutic relationship is going to be a good fit. At the end of the appointment, your therapist will schedule your following visit at a time that works best for you. This initial appointment should last about an hour.
What does therapy look like?
No one can tell you exactly what your therapy process will be like, but you and your therapist together will establish goals for your therapy and determine the steps you will take to get there. Whether in individual, group, or family therapy, your relationship with your therapist is a confidential one. The therapeutic process – how you share your feelings and experiences – is considered to be just as important as the specific issues or concerns you share in therapy. On the whole, you can expect that your therapist will be someone who supports you, listens attentively, models a healthy and positive relationship experience, gives you appropriate feedback, and follows ethical guidelines. Good therapy should be tailored to you and your experiences. Therapy is not a one size fits all process.
The thought of therapy makes me nervous and uncomfortable. Is that normal?
Absolutely! It takes A LOT of courage to go to therapy, because you will have to confront issues that are hard to deal with. The good news is that just getting it all out there makes these things easier to deal with. Therapy is hard work, but it is well worth the effort.
How much does therapy cost?
Insurance covers therapy the same way they cover your visits to the doctor’s office. If you prefer not to use your insurance, our cash price is $150 for the initial assessment, and $100-$125 for each session thereafter, depending on which therapist you are seeing.
Will my therapist prescribe me medication?
No. Only licensed medical doctors, such as psychiatrists, can prescribe medications. However, she or he may recommend that medication could be helpful for you and give you a referral to an appropriate psychiatrist. This referral will take into account your particular needs.
Do I need a psychiatrist and a therapist? Why not just go to a psychiatrist?
Psychiatrists normally do not do “talk therapy,” and a session with a psychiatrist is likely to last less than 15 minutes. The goal of most psychiatry sessions is to monitor your medication and make adjustments as necessary. This is very different than what is accomplished during a traditional therapy session, which normally lasts about 55 minutes at our clinic. Studies show that while medication alone, and therapy alone, can both be very beneficial, the best results are seen when the two are combined. This is why we work hand in hand with the most accomplished psychiatrists to bring you individualized, wrap-around services.
Will the things I discuss with my therapist be confidential?
Therapists have very strong ethical and legal obligations to keep your private information confidential. This includes everything you share with your therapist and everything contained in your client file. There are very limited exceptions to this:
- Therapists may disclose private information without consent in order to protect the client or the public from serious harm – if, for example, a client discusses plans to attempt suicide or harm another person.
- Therapists are required to report ongoing domestic violence and abuse or neglect of children, the elderly, or people with disabilities. (However, if an adult discloses that he or she was abused as a child, the therapist typically isn’t bound to report that abuse, unless there are other children continuing to be abused.)
- Therapists are required to release information if they receive a court order. That might happen if a person’s mental health came into or question during legal proceedings.
What if I still have questions?
Why do I need to send my ID?
Verification of identity: Requesting identification helps ensure that the patient is who they claim to be. It helps prevent identity theft, fraud, and the misuse of medical services.
- Patient safety: Verifying a patient’s identity helps ensure that the correct medical records and history are associated with the right person. This is crucial for accurate diagnosis, treatment, and medication administration.
- Legal and regulatory compliance: Many countries have laws and regulations in place to protect patient privacy and safeguard personal health information. Proper identification helps medical practices comply with these legal requirements, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the United States.
- Billing and insurance purposes: Identifying patients accurately is essential for proper billing and insurance claim processing. It helps prevent errors, such as submitting claims for the wrong individuals or incorrect services, which can lead to payment delays and financial complications.
- Emergency situations: In emergency scenarios, where a patient may be incapacitated or unable to communicate, having proper identification can provide vital information for healthcare providers, ensuring appropriate and timely care. Overall, asking for identification is a standard procedure that helps protect patients, maintain data integrity, comply with legal requirements, and ensure effective medical care delivery.
